Skincare is my jam! I love trying out new skincare products. Ever since my young “Welcome to Sephora” days, I have treated my skin with anti-aging products, acne products and oily skin products, so it’s fair to say I know a thing or two. Today as I washed my face I spotted a new little mark that has surfaced on my face due to pregnancy hormones. I did not freak out, I simply opened my medicine cabinet and pulled out some of my most trusted products and thought hmmm I wonder if everyone knows about you little helpers… so here’s a list of some of my go to face products for early aging skin, acne prone and oily skin. Don’t forget to leave your favorites down in the comment section along with why they are you go to skincare products.
Step One: Face wash
Exuviance Clarifying Facial Cleanser is not only my current favorite but my husbands as well. That’s a huge deal considering he was just fine using regular soap and water. This cleanser helps to remove impurities and excess oil. That being said in return your skin should feel fresh and balanced. Exuviance clarifying cleanser is formulated with Salicylic and Mandelic Acids, which is great for you if you have problematic skin.
Lush Dark Angels Face and Body Cleanser. I love this face and body wash product. I always leave it in my shower so it’s ready to go daily. My skin feels fresh and truly clean without that tight stripped feeling. This product is a black sugar and charcoal cleanser so with that you know it’s going to exfoliate and detoxify your skin of its impurities, that is going to really be beneficial to you if your skin is oily and acne prone. It also smells really light and pretty.
Step Two: Toners
My skin thrives when I use a this toner, I always notice a difference when I go without.
Toners are a must have product in my skincare regimen. The purpose of a toner is to help balance your skin after the cleanser. Most times the skins natural balance (PH) can be off after we do our cleansing steps like makeup remover, cleansers and masks. It also helps to remove any traces of dirt and or makeup that might have been left behind. My all time favorite toner is Thayers Witch Hazel Aloe Vera Formula. You can find this product in different forms, such as pads, spray and in the good ole pop open and put it on a cotton round bottle.
Step Three: Serums
Serums make so many of us confused, seems like just an extra step. Let me clear some things up for you, it is absolutely an extra step haha! However a crucial extra step. Serums basically act as the vehicle that transports moisture deep into the skin. If you have ever used a toner you most likely noticed that it feels a lot thinner than a moisturizer. The reason is the small molecules are able to penetrate your skin, which is why usually toners carry the medicinal properties moisturizers do not. Beauty from the inside out!
Step Four: Moisturizer
“Some makeup looks require different types of moisturizers than the bare face I need a glow kind of days.”
I usually switch between different ones, It really depends on how I am wearing my skin of that day. Some makeup looks require different types of moisturizers than the bare face I need a glow kind of days. It’s all on preference. What I will leave here is that having oily skin I prefer a gel based moisturizer like Murad’s Hydration Nutrient-Charged Water Gel. Click Here to learn more on this amazing product.
These are my most reached for products that truly help keep my skin balanced. For those special days when my skin wants to act up and invite guests like pimples, and or white heads I always always reach for my Neutrogena Rapid Clear Spot Gel. This product has been part of my regimen for a while now (like years) and has always proven itself.
